PTT is a business radio service that uses GSM mobile phones instead of the traditional walkie-talkies. Transmitting through the GSM mobile phone network gives PTT the advantage of practically unlimited global coverage.

A PTT service allows field workers to keep in touch with the office as well as each other. Call costs are significantly reduced using PTT technology because you only pay for the time spent speaking, transmitted in IP packets over the GSM network; you do not pay for the full duration of a call as with standard mobile phone charges.
